September 29th is National Coffee Day and we love any excuse to curl up in bed with a delicious cup o’ joe! And with October arriving, we took it on ourselves to test a couple of tasty fall recipes (you’re welcome!) and share them with all of you!
So grab your favorite mug, make a drink and climb back in bed for a leisurely Sunday morning!
MAPLE LATTE
½ Cup Milk of Choice
1 ½ tsp Maple Syrup (or to taste)
¼ tsp Vanilla
Strong Brewed Coffee
Pour all ingredients except coffee into a mason jar or saucepan. Heat in the microwave for 30 – 40 seconds or on the stove until ingredients are combined. If using a jar, place the lid on top and shake vigorously. Pour milk into mug. If you have a handheld milk frother (which we highly recommend!), froth your milk before adding the coffee.
PUMPKIN LATTE
Serves 1
½ Cup Milk of Choice
½ Tb Pumpkin Puree
1 tsp Maple Syrup (or to taste)
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp vanilla

FOAMING MILK AT HOME
If you don’t have a homemade espresso machine, there are some cost-friendly ways to foam your milk at home. With a quick online search, you’ll see there are endless mentions of the ‘mason jar trick’ which consists of warming the milk in the microwave and then shaking vigorously (with a lid on!) to create foam. While this option will give you a bit of foam, it’s mostly bubbles so we highly recommend a handheld milk frother because they aren’t very expensive, but they make a much better foam at home!
